Open Competition Entries
Our competitions are designed to be inclusive and welcoming, giving players of all abilities the chance to take part, improve their game, and enjoy the course in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Throughout the season, we run a mix of regular club competitions offering a great way to experience the club and get involved.
It’s all about enjoying the game, meeting others, and being part of the Buchanan Castle Golf Club community.


Open Competition Rules

Competitions will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A and any applicable Local Rules.

In the event of a tie, places will be decided by card countback using the back nine holes.

No competitor may win more than one prize.

All competitors must hold a current WHS Handicap Index and be a full playing member of a golf club affiliated to the relevant national governing body.

Requests for refunds must be made in writing or by email and received no later than 14 days before the competition date.

No refunds will be given for withdrawals made within 14 days of the competition date. Entry fees, less any expenses incurred, will be donated to a charity chosen by the Committee.

If a competition is cancelled between 24 hours and 7 days before the scheduled date, entry fees will be refunded less a £2 administration charge.

If a competition is cancelled less than 24 hours before, or on the day of the event, one-third of the entry fee will be retained to cover expenses, with the balance refunded to competitors.

In the event of cancellation, the competition will not be rescheduled.
